Music sets the mood and the tone of the ceremony.

Be sure the DJ or musicians start playing 30 minutes before the ceremony is to begin. There is an elegance to having your guests walk into the place where the ceremony will be, see the beautiful flowers and other decorations, and hear soothing music — typically, classical instrumental music. If the music is not playing when they arrive, they will often wait in the lobby until it is.

There is no right or wrong music to play during the ceremony. Well, hard rock might not fit so well. Play your favorite Top 20 song – or a classic. Most couples choose classical music for it fits the elegance of the day.

Music sets the mood and the tone of the ceremony.

Where can you find music you might want to have played at your wedding? Your DJ or musicians will certainly have ideas.

Below are suggestions, if you need it.

Rev. Phil recommends you play only instrumental music for cocktails and hors d’ouerves. People are milling about and talking. Hard to talk over songs with lyrics.

Vitamin Sting Quartet’s The Modern Wedding Collection II

Contemporary songs without lyrics.
But it’s not your parents’s Muzak / elevator music.
Very appropriate for wedding ceremonies, cocktails and hors d’ouerves and dinner during the reception.
There are a ton of varieties to suit your tastes – tributes to the Beatles, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Elton John, Rolling Stones, U2, Valentine’s Day and so many more.

Rev. Phil Will Email the Script to DJ/Musicians

As the wedding planner for your ceremony, Rev. Phil will email the ceremony script to the DJ or the musicians the week of your wedding. It allows them to know precisely when they are to play — which makes the ceremony flow smoothly.

An officiant emailing a script to DJ/musicians is very rare.

‘Meet’ Rev. Phil for a FREE unhurried consultation. He will take time to get to know you.

You will get an email with dates to Zoom.

If he is not available, he will refer you someone on his team who is.

If Style #3 might be for you, then he will get and share the beginning of your love story when you ‘meet’! No other officiant does that.
