Medinah Country Club in the western suburbs is one of the most exclusive places one can get married at. Tiger Woods won a PGA Championship there in 1999. Only someone who is sponsored by a member can get married there. The groom’s father is a member. I park my Prius next to Lamborghinis and Jaquars.
The couple drove with their dog Cooper with them from their home on the east coast. Cooper wanted to sniff all the guests at the end of the aisle before finally bounding down the asile to greet the groom. He never barked during the ceremony.
Jordan and Danny wrote — and therefore had to read — their vows to each other. They kept them a secret until the ceremony. It was really sweet, with tears (and not just them.) Hard to do well. They did.
I was honored to sit next to the father of the bride at the reception. I love that for I get all the back stories.
Two desserts — a wonderful creme brulee (which I had) and tiramisu — were served at the table. Later, they had a station making fresh donut holes with several toppings. Delicious!
